EveWho.com has been seen on the EO forums before but this is the official announcement.
Stats at time of posting: 2,363,834 Characters 148,505 Corporations 2,392 Alliances
About: EveWho allows the public to easily list the members of a Corporation or Alliance.
Disclaimer: All numbers based on known characters and may differ from in game values. All characters found by scavenging killboards, forums, eve-search, and finding holes in character id sequence data and filling them.
Features:
- View members of an Alliance
- View members of a Corporation
- View employment history of a Character out of game.
- Easy links to several intel sources, such as EveKill & Dotlan.
- Average Security Status of Corps & Alliances.
- Top 10 lists for many, many different comparisons between Corporations and Alliances.
Upcoming Features:
- Listing of everyone in a corp at a certain date or all time.
- Comparison of memberships between multiple corps (all time).
- Character association based on corp memberships. {maybe}
- Corporation history in alliances. {maybe}
- Working with EveKill to get Top Pilot statistics.
- Working with EveKill to obtain information about SuperCap pilots. {maybe}
Will Never do:
- Accept isk to de-list an entity from EveWho, not even for 5 billion
Upcoming features is limited on my time to write code, how lazy I feel, and how difficult it is to write queries that are quick and efficient for that particular item.
Of course, if you have any ideas please feel free to share!
Many have already enjoyed this great service and a few have even sent me evemails of praise. Thank you, I truly appreciate it! Squizz Caphinator

Yup, use CCP's api for this! It's silly for me to add an API which is already handled and done well by CCP.

A new feature I should have added a long time ago has been added!
You can now view the history of people that have joined a corporation: Example: http://evewho.com/corp/Woopatang/joinhistory
Or the history of people that have left a corporation: Example: http://evewho.com/corp/Woopatang/leavehistory

Lookin2 Myeyes wrote:Just wondering if you take idea requests. If you do I got one for you. The data you have has the Current Corp and Corp history for a character. Say your a member of a corp for a long time and you take a break. you come back everyone is gone, players are blown to the wind. What I was thinking was a "where are they now" kinda sorting. You already have the page for corp former members. What would be great on that page is not just their name but a column for there current Corp. Dotlan does this great for former corps in an Alliance see link below. They list the former Corps but list there current alliance. Now of course you can click on each name and see where they are so the data is there but it would be simpler. Also a alliance column might be good. So each ex-member of a Corp you can see they are in CorpA & AllianceG now. Just an Idea, Fly Safe http://evemaps.dotlan.net/alliance/Important_Internet_Spaceship_League/corporations
Excellent idea! I'm adding this to my list of things to do :)
Captain Thunk wrote:The api function is pretty annoying.
If you're using it, that means you're reading in player names for a corp. Corps with over 200 members known will have 10+ pages. On the 10th page request it triggers your "hammering a website isn't very nice ya know.... please wait 30 seconds" message.
I appreciate the desire to prevent needless scraping of your website, but the measure you've employed is a little too simple and is prone to trigger during legitimate use.
As per our discussion on IRC, the limit has been bumped up from the obnoxiously low 20 characters per page to 200. This should help you, and many others, out immensely!

Thanks! The skills a character has aren't public information, so I can't link that at all. You might want to check out Chribba's EveBoard service if you're looking for stats on characters.
Aud Actori wrote:Hi Squizz.
When you search for a character, if the character has recently changed corp does that queue a refresh for the character from the EVSCO api proxy? And if it does, how long does it typically take before the refresh occurs?
And thanks for developing such a great intel service!
Aud
CCP has no facility that says "this character has just changed corporations, go update them". Therefore I have to blindly do it. The character updates are on a rotating schedule and it could take up to 7 days for a character's information to be updated. Any faster than that and I run the risk of swamping CCP's API servers and Scotty becomes very unhappy with me. http://evewho.com - Alliance and Corporation Member Listings http://evechatter.com - Free Alliance and Corporation forums for all. |

Delta is simply the difference in the number of pilots from 7 days ago. If 7 days a corp had 13 pilots, and today that corp has 18 pilots, then that corp would have a delta of 5.

Some of you may have noticed that performance on EveWho has gone down over the last couple of weeks. The hosting provider I was using is to blame, seems they have finally oversold their servers and EveWho was being negatively affected.
So, it is time to move.

I thought you could search all corps by size from biggest to smallest in one list. I see the top 10, both in alliance and out, but I can't seem to find a way to find corps past those top ten.
Glad your looking for new hosting, this has been an invaluable resource for recruitment and such.
EveWho has never had the feature to search all corporations by size. I've put some thought into it and it would be just too unwieldy to implement. There are 229k corporations in EveWho's database, imagine scrolling through that list?

Unless you're comparing to CCP's API, in which a corp has 4 members but EveWho only knows about one. In that case EveWho just doesn't know who the other three members are - and until they popup somewhere (see my other posts) EveWho will continue to not know about them. I have to do some creating guesswork to determine who's involved in Faction Warfare since the information isn't included in the API. At a glance, it seems only a couple of your corps are active enough to be marked as participating in Faction Warfare.
... roughly 5 minutes later ...
There, I made some tweaks. Now if any corp in an alliance is marked as involved in FW, all corps in that alliance will be marked as involved in FW. And now I see BNANA listed :)

EveWho has downloaded over 1.4 million portraits from the old avatar server. These portraits can be seen just by searching for your character and then click the hyperlink just under the main character image.
Currently in progress: EveWho is checking older characters to see if they don't have a new image, if they don't, and they do have an older image, the older image will be displayed instead.

I recently had a drive go bad on the EveWho server and the RAID didn't do its job. If it wasn't for backups everything would have been lost!
The history table is HUGE, and in the interest of getting the site up quickly I skipped re-importing that table. The website rebuilds that table on the fly, anyhow, and it takes less than a week to do so.
Also, I've since switched EveWho to a new server with SSD drives - so if you thought it was already fast its even faster now.
